Jennifer R. Welty, a leader in the field of portraiture, was born in the heart of Silicon Valley, where she developed an early desire to capture timelessness in her work.
By the age of 14, Jennifer had already illustrated four children’s books used in school reading curriculums.
She then graduated as Valedictorian with a degree in interior design from International Fine Arts College in Miami, Florida.
At the age of 23, she began to be represented by a prestigious gallery in California, a relationship that would last nearly 10 years before plunging fulltime into portraiture, her first love.
Jennifer Welty is largely self-taught in portraiture, having learned by studying the masters and practicing tirelessly while raising two young daughters and caring for her family.
Beauty, the reward of hard work, family, integrity, character, and discipline are the values she strives to honor through each of her paintings. Through honoring these values she has earned national recognition through the Portrait Society of America.
Over the years, Welty’s artistry has earned her widespread recognition, numerous awards, and commissions from distinguished individuals, firmly securing her place among the foremost portrait artists of our time.
